Waterford Restaurant/Tavern
Site: Pohangina Valley Road (near Ashhurst)
Wastewater Volume: Up to 2500 litres per day
Wastewater Design:

A group of valley residents applied to Regional Council for permission to convert an existing picturesque farmhouse into a local tavern. Due to the site being bisected by a stream and the requirement for off road parking, insufficient area was available for traditional effluent disposal. I was approached to overcome this problem and designed a timer controlled modular LPED system with provision to add on a sewage treatment facility if required by future increased patronage.

River Valley Venture Tours
Site: Taihape (on banks of Rangitikei River
Wastewater Volume: 6,000litres per day
Wastewater Design:

Situated on the banks of the pristine Rangitikei River, River Valley Tours operates an adventure rafting, bungy and outdoor adventure tourist facility combined with overnight accommodation for up to 80 people. As the lodge is located a narrow strip between a cliff and the river, a reliable advanced sewage system was a must.
Dave was engaged to undertake a feasibility study to determine suitable sewage treatment options and design the system which could be incorporated into the landscape. The system Dave designed produces effluent 5 times better than other systems and lasts 4 times longer – a real winner for the lodge and the environment.
